bio
To delve into how Miss Katrine got to where she is today, you must start in the small town of Elk Mound, Wisconsin where she spent the first eighteen years of her life. In school she excelled as an all-around student but spent much of her time in the music room playing the trombone and euphonium. It was while she was in jazz band that she first found her love for SINGING jazz. From there she dove into show choir, vocal jazz, concert choir, musicals, singing in honor choirs, and winning jazz festival awards while singing with her high school jazz band. She moved to Minneapolis to go to school at the University of Minnesota where she received her B.S. in Microbiology and a major in Physiology with a minor in Music on the euphonium. After her freshman year at the U of M, the singing bug got a hold of her and convinced her to seek out a band to sing with. While searching the local City Pages for openings for vocalists, she came across an ad asking for a "Female Swing Singer". After one audition, she became the lead female singer for the well-known and loved Jump Blues band The Senders. In addition to singing with The Senders, Miss Katrine has been singing jazz with local musicians in many different clubs in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Her most recent title is as the lead female vocalist for the Dean Weisser Band, a well rounded classic rock, modern rock, and blues band that performs all around the Cities. Each different style of music Miss Katrine sings just adds to her allure as a vocalist. Check out her calendar to see when she will be performing.
